The Canadian government is considering to introduce tax incentives for those companies that develop and implement new technological solutions enabling the capture and storage of CO₂ emissions. The topic of carbon capture and storage has also been known within the European Union for several years. In English, it is referred to as carbon capture and storage (CCS). EU institutions have likewise expressed support for the deployment of such technologies, including through European funding. This would help achieve climate-neutrality targets, which have become even more pressing in the geopolitical context of the crisis in Ukraine.
